ChronoScout
ChronoScout
Effective date: September 6, 2026
ChronoScout ("ChronoScout," "we," "us") is a deal-analysis tool for watch resellers, operated from the United States and available at chronoscout.app. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've kept it short on purpose — if anything is unclear, email us at [email protected].
Account information. Your email address and a password (or, if you choose Google sign-in, the basic profile information Google shares, such as your email). Authentication is handled by Supabase, our infrastructure provider. We never see or store your Google password.
Content you enter. Saved deals, watchlist entries, and the outcome records you log (for example, what you paid for a watch and what it sold for). This data belongs to you and is visible only to your account.
Usage counters. We count things like how many analyses you run each month, so we can enforce the limits of your subscription plan.
Signup source labels. If you create an account through a campaign link, we may save its campaign, source, medium, and content labels, plus the capture time, with your account. These are short campaign identifiers, not your browsing history or search text. We use them to measure which resources lead to signup and product use. This does not add tracking cookies or subscribe you to marketing email.
Optional calculator measurement. When offered on the free watch profit calculator, this sharing is off unless you choose "Allow for this visit" after reading the notice. The notice appears before any optional measurement starts. If you allow it, we record that you participated, whether you subsequently edited the example into a valid calculation, and whether you clicked "Create your account". Records contain approved campaign labels, receipt times, the notice version, and a random identifier for this visit. We do not include your entered amounts, calculated results, watch details, email, account identity, full URLs, referrers, IP address, or browser identity in these measurement records. Our hosting provider still handles the technical server logs described below.
Calculator sharing does not set cookies or use browser storage, and the temporary identifier is not carried to signup or linked to your account. Declining leaves the calculator and account creation available. You can choose "Stop sharing" on the calculator to stop further activity from being sent and request withdrawal of that visit's measurement records. The page shows whether removal is pending, confirmed, or could not be confirmed. If it could not be confirmed, you can retry while keeping that page open; sharing stays off during and after retries. Collection stays off for the remainder of that visit, and starts off again on a new visit. Activity before you allow sharing is not sent later. This choice does not enroll you in marketing email or change existing signup-source attribution.
Server logs. Like most web services, our servers automatically record technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We use logs for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.
Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and never touches our servers or database. We store only your subscription status and a Stripe customer identifier so we know which plan you're on. Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.
We use cookies only to keep you signed in (session authentication). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers.
We use the data above to:
We do not use your data to target personalized advertising, and we do not sell your personal data.
Some features use an AI model (provided by Anthropic) to write plain-English explanations of figures our system has already computed — for example, why a listing received its Deal Score. The prompts we send contain deal figures and watch data only. We do not include your name, email, or other personal data in these prompts.
We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf to run ChronoScout:
Each of these providers is bound by its own terms and processes data only to provide its service to us.
Links to eBay. Listing links take you to eBay. Once you leave ChronoScout, eBay's privacy policy applies. Some links are affiliate links through the eBay Partner Network, meaning we may earn a commission if you make a purchase — this doesn't change what you pay or what data we collect.
We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of ChronoScout, our users, or others.
We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and its data at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will delete your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to comply with law (for example, billing records).
Optional calculator measurement records expire within 30 days. When a withdrawal reaches our service, we remove that visit's activity and keep a temporary withdrawal marker so delayed requests cannot restore it; the marker also expires within 30 days. Collection is disabled if the required retention controls are unavailable. Aggregated reports do not include visit identifiers. Because participation is optional and the identifier lasts for one visit, these reports count participating visits, not unique people or every visitor to the site.
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including:
No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we design with security as a default, not an afterthought.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR or California under the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We honor reasonable requests of this kind from all users regardless of location — email [email protected] and we'll respond. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. We are a small US-based company and do not claim any specific certification or framework membership; this section describes how we actually operate.
ChronoScout is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we will delete it.
If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and notify you by email or an in-app notice before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after that means you accept the updated policy.
